History
Silver needle white tea generally feature very young and minimally processed buds of the Camelia Sinensis plant, and comes from the Fujian province of China. We can trace the origins of white tea as far back as the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Later on, during the Song Dynasty (960-1269) white tea become popular drink and it was so precious that only royalty was allowed to partake of this delicate drink. One rumor states that this white tea could only be consumed if served by virgins wearing silk gloves – and only as tribute to the emperor.
